Counseling to get over a relationship (also known as counseling to get over someone, counseling to get over an ex, or  counseling to get over a break up) is the professional work done by a trained therapist or counselor with a client to address the emotional issues that arise in conjunction with a breakup or end of a relationship, to work on healing the emotional effects of the breakup, to do work to let go of past memories involving an ex, and to build self confidence, to remove the fears and apprehensions about the future so that the client comes out of the counseling therapy healed from past negative baggage, and have a fresh outlook – to be healthy, energetic and optimistic about the positive possibilities that the future will certainly offer.
